About the event
Welcome to Submitting Your Poetry Collection to Publishers with Julie Irigaray.
This course guides poets through the practical and creative process of preparing and submitting a full-length poetry collection to publishers. Students will learn how to shape a manuscript and navigate the submission landscape of literary publishing. Through discussions, readings, and peer feedback, participants will refine their collections, develop professional submission materials, and build strategies for approaching publishers with confidence.
Topics include organising and sequencing a poetry manuscript, choosing the right titles for your book and individual poems, and writing effective blurbs and cover letters. Students will analyse successful poetry collections and practice assembling a polished submission packet.
By the end of the course, each student will have a revised poetry manuscript and a complete submission package ready to send. The course is designed for poets who have a substantial body of work and are willing to share their experiences…
